L E O N A R D O A R D O R
Today marks as my second happiest day of 2012 so far. That is after my nephew being born. I have got a ticket to see Da Vinci: Painter of the Court of Milan at the National Gallery. I won't hesitate to admit that my eyes watered while stud in front of the Lady with an Ermine, both versions of the Virgin of the Rocks (put and facing each other in the same room) or Giampietrino's replica of The Last Supper and my ultimate personal favoured: The Madonna of the Yarnwinder. I was dazzled with fascination and emotion at the same time. Those who know me well also know my love for art goes far and so I did not mind queuing for almost 4 hours very early in the morning in freezing cold to be able to get in among another 400 people/fanatics which numbered up to over 1000 by the time the gallery opened. I stayed in for another 4 and half hours admiring the genius paintings and sketches.
What a spectacular highlight of the lifetime.
On my way out I hastened to have a final look at my favourite painting exhibited on the upper floor of the gallery. Delaroche's Execution of Lady Jane Grey and Joseph's Wright of Derby, Experiment on a Bird in the Air Pump. By this piece my ears could not help catching my mother tongue(Czech)speaking lady to a petite young girl that I am sure was her granddaughter explaining the use of the chiaroscuro effect with the skill of the artist to transfer the light and dark contrast onto the painting to her. This taken me back in time when I used to be such little girl being educated by my granddad, yearning for and taking in every single thing he ever taught me about art.

Higher the hair closer to Jesus
I have been neglecting blogging for a little while. I have been busy working on many new shoots and other make-up jobs. I been also doing a bit of Art direction. However, I am not able to sleep so I decided to update on post ups about today's make-up adventures.
More to follow in a few days, I promise.
I have been working on a shoot for ELLE magazine today, assisting.
The photo shoot went well and was really easy as for make-up look I thought ... I was a very lucky assistant to had a chance to watch an amazing artist and master of his own craft James Pecis at work. He is one of the best hairstylist from NYC. James is not only extremely skilled but also extremely charming guy. No wonder the whole ELLE team was at ease with the him and the atmosphere in the studio was lovely. The beauty story will be out in March and it is all about tips from Fa SS'12 backstage hair style looks. James was demonstrating them in front of the lens and was photographed step by step for the readers to follow and to do their trendy hair do by themselves. Make up was very Luis Vuitton SS'12, clean, dewy, porcelain skin, fresh and 'pretty pretty' doll beautiful. (Excuse the Mak-up artist vocabulary here) I was mesmerised watching all being done. Elle beauty editor Georgia was interviewing James while working and being shot so I have learned a lot about the products use, tips and secrets from that myself. We had some time between the shots for a little gossip about the celebs that James worked with... he loves Gaga...he also pointed out this video that I could not deprive my blog off. It was a great day there and I loved assisting to Natasha Bulstrode who is ever so cool and sweet.
Ricky's pout in this is slightly off putting but well done Dermablend, the ad is good. Worth watching the layers and layers of product being taken off...
As for the phone snaps bellow... There were a lot of other catwalk hair looks created on the day but I was just not sure if running around and snapping away with my Iphone on a shoot for Elle would be appreciated...so sorry for the small visual low down and poor quality....
